A good articulation on why so many of us are against remakes, reboots, etc.

Finally, somebody gets it...http://www.huffingtonpost...1.html?ref=entertainmentAt least Streisand seems not to be into this Gypsy reboot for the $$...all probably know it's a marginal film.

Well, a new GYPSY movie will technically be a re-make, since it's been done on film before. If a new film was made of  MY FAIR LADY, it would also be called a "remake", wouldn't it?

This will be a remake of the 1963 movie, regardless of what changes are made cinematically are made. All the ASIB's were different, but they were remakes of the previous films none the less. The same...

With the exception of Gypsy every project you mention are films based on (and "remakes" of) films. Barbra's Gypsy will NOT be a remake of the 1963 film but a new film based on the Broadway musical....
